Dukaj has made a name for himself, so you'll reach for that Lem 2.0, you'll survive the frantic run-up bombarding you with information from a new, better world, like a TikTok algorithm. William Gibson throws his audience into the deep end in a similar way.
But at least with Gibson, you know that everything will eventually be explained — words, abbreviations and ideas. And even if the world seems strange to you, you will find yourself in people and things. Not so with Dukaj. He is interested in philosophies, concepts, ideas; and man is there to sit down and talk about them.
In doing so, he uses a curious language that no longer exists to describe what is yet to come.
